Another first for Ferndown U3A – A four-day trip without leaving Britain! We are planning a trip from 5th – 8th June 2020 to the northwest – the Lake District. As with all our other trips, all you have to do is fill in the form overleaf and send in your money! You can then enjoy some of the most scenic countryside – outside of Dorset!

There is so much more to this area than simply mountains – there are many attractions that can be enjoyed without the need to go climbing!

This visit will cater for those whose mountaineering days are long gone, as well as people who still want to stretch their legs and venture on to some of the lower fells. Whatever you chose to do you are assured of stunning views of lakes and fells.

The trip will include visits to Grasmere, Ambleside and Hawkshead, as well as Beatrix Potter’s House, and other National Trust properties.

The walks will be centred around the same area, and everyone will be able to enjoy a cruise across Lake Windermere. On the return journey home we will be stopping at Quarry Bank Mill near Manchester to experience life in a nineteenth century Cotton Mill.

The cost will be £295, with a single supplement of £100. (Why not try to find a friend to share a room with?………)

This will include: travel to and from Ferndown & West Moors by coach 3 nights B & B accommodation in The Windermere Hotel (all rooms are en-suite) Welcome reception and first night dinner in the hotel.

Visits to National Trust properties will be extra for non NT members. If the trip is over-subscribed, names will be drawn from a hat in the usual manner.

To apply, simply complete the application form which can be downloaded from the Brochure page  and send it to the address given. To avoid disappointment, send your application form in as soon as possible and by July 12th 2019 at the latest.
